CBSE PMT (Pre Medical Test)
It is a national level entrance exam which is popularly called AIPMT and conducted by CBSE board to fill 15% seats in medical and dental course for bachelor degree to the colleges that are run under state government, municipal bodies, Union of India, and local authorities to the only exception of Jammu & Kashmir. As per the revised scheme the exam is conducted in two stages, preliminary and final entrance test.
BDS and MBBS are the courses offered if you get to the merit list. The questions in the entrance exam are entirely based on the higher secondary certificate level with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The candidate must have completed 17 years of age and the maximum age requirement is 25, there is a relaxation for 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC)
AFMC, Pune is a renowned institute of medical science India that is affiliated to Maharashtra University of health Science, Nashik with a recognition of Medical council of India. This all-India entrance exam selects 130 students every year for its MBBS course. After the completion of the medical degree it is mandatory for the candidate to serve Armed Forces Medical Services as a Commissioned Officer for at least 7 years. The parents/guardian of the candidate have to sign a bond at the time of admission.
Candidate appearing for the exam must have cleared 10+2 with an aggregate of 60% in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with Mathematics in 10th standard. He/She should be 17 years or above but not more than 22 years. Syllabus is entirely based on the pattern of CBSE and equivalent boards for 11th and 12th standard. AFMC medical entrance is a single stage test with 200 objective type questions with 50 each for Physics, Chemistry and Biology and 25 questions each for English comprehension and 25 for Logic/Reasoning and Intelligence.
AIIMS Entrance Exam
All India Institute of Medical Sciences was established as an autonomous institute of national value through an act of Parliament. AIIMS conducts an entrance test for MBBS that is offered by the institute itself and the degree is recognized equivalent to privileges that are offered by other Universities of the country.
The exam is conducted for an undergraduate medical program where MBBS- Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of Surgery is a five and a half year course. The questions are related to general knowledge and academics, the students must have studied Higher Secondary Level Education. There is no listed syllabus as such, however the question paper is divided into 4 parts. The candidates appearing for exam should be 17 years or above with not less that 60% aggregate score of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in 10+2 or its equivalent.
Delhi University Pre-Medical Test (DPMT)
DPMT or DUMET(University of Delhi Medical/Dental Entrance Test is a medical entrance test at all-India level for admission of students to MBBS and BDS courses that are offered by medical colleges and affiliated to University of Delhi. Candidates appearing for the test must have cleared 10+2 from any recognized school within National Capital Territory of Delhi with an aggregate of 50% and 40% for candidate of SC/St category.
The entrance exam consists of 2 papers, the first paper includes Physics and Chemistry and the second paper is of Zoology and Botany. The duration of the paper is two and a half hour each containing MCQ questions of 600 marks
JIPMER Entrance Exam
JIPMER stands for Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research, Puduchery/Pondicherry conducts medical entrance test at an all-India level (JIPMER-MBBS) that can get you admission into MBBS course. Each year around 75 students get admitted through JIPMER. Merit in the entrance test is the only criteria to get selected for an MBBS course.
The exam consist of 200(MCQ) multiple choice question and equally divided among sections of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. There is no negative marking for any wrong answers.
